Holy Cow O.K. - this update is late - like the last three years worth; however, I've not run out of excuses - so let me run through them first. I bought a shack in the mountains the first week in January. Now hold the phone you Homer critics and pundits - I know that I claimed that after owning five houses I'd never again chain myself to a life whose every free moment is dedicated to the upkeep and improvement of the castle/moat/ and surrounding grounds - but our commander and chief ruined that dream (hereby he will be referred to as the CaC - I will not be tricked into publicly criticizing Eorgeg Ushb and sent to Cuba as a traitor. I never thought we'd have a CaC who was a more disgusting liar than Clinton - wrong again. Being a fellow of the same age trying to avoid getting my ass shot up in Nam like brother Tom - I joined the Army Reserves. Unlike today's reserves - which our CaC doesn't seem to remember - they would have called up the girl scouts first. I had an important job - to get to the liquor store when it opened on Saturday morning and make sure we had enough beer for the weekend - since they were closed on Sunday. Hey, at least I attended meetings and knew of my contribution). By royally screwing up the economy - it became cheaper to not have money than have money - hell a 3.5% mortgage rate cut my rent in half.
Reason number two - I'm working my silly butt off at work putting in a new golf course management system, a new payroll system and a new mechanized time sheet system. Hopefully it will be worth my effort - as my boss Mike Miles said to me at my year end appraisal - "Can you believe what a lousy job Mike Sherman did calling plays in that Packer game. No way they should have lost." I'm taking that as a positive.
Speaking of golf have you tried that new Hammy putter? Unbelievable how it has changed the entire concept of putting. It takes a bit to get used to the stance - but once you do - start knocking off the strokes. I bought one for my friend Gomer who didn't know a green that couldn't be three putted. Now, anything in ten feet is automatic - where as before a four footer was 50-50. I agree with Mr. Nick P's assessment, it doesn't really help on the really long putts - but those testy ones you want to make in the 6-15 foot range are much more make able.
Time for some corrections/retractions. At times I go to press with what I believe to be reliable information - and the last issue had an error. Kathy did not get a face lift - just "some work around the eyes". I apologize for that error - but lets set the record straight as to the source - it was not Carrie - but Gary who provided the information.
How about those Nuggets - are they fun to watch or what? On the down side - I used to get tickets for free - now I have to watch them on TV. So, what wonderful pictures are you in store for? Well, how about the Myklushes first home. They kill me - their "starter home" is bigger than anything I've owned, cripes my shack would fit in their garage. Pictures from the Storandt pig roast, Russo reception, festivous, and of course Ranch Homer.
